If you've never received a freight pallet before, the terminology can be confusing. Here's what matters when you're setting up a pallet delivery for the first time.
Loading dock
A raised platform that lets a delivery truck back in level with your building, so pallets can be unloaded directly with a pallet jack or forklift. Most standalone salons and retail storefronts don't have one.
Forklift
If your location has a forklift on site, the driver can typically unload pallets without any extra equipment or fees.
Liftgate
A liftgate is a hydraulic platform on the back of the truck that lowers pallets to ground level. If you don't have a dock or forklift, you'll need to request liftgate service — this is the most common setup for salons and spas receiving their first pallet order.
What to tell us before you order
When you request pallet pricing, let us know whether your delivery address has a dock, a forklift, or needs a liftgate. This is the single biggest factor in freight cost and scheduling accuracy.
